If you follow us on social media then you probably are well aware of the vacation I took last week from the photos I kept sharing… and sharing… and sharing. I harass you all because I care, or just want to make you Minnesotan’s jealous since it was only 8 degrees here at the time.

Here’s a recap of our weekend in the sun!

I’m filled with more cultural knowledge, new love for Cuban food and a couple shades tanner. When searching for our four day getaway we had one goal in mind, napping on the beach and feeling that warm sun. Miami Beach had everything we were looking for, high temperatures, authentic food, and a nightlife filled with things to do. Plus, we get to be surrounded by art deco buildings that made the designer in me just swoon.

We were so ecstatic when we walked into our hotel room. We ended up purchasing our hotel via Groupon.com and did not expect it to be this beautiful! We stayed at Hotel Ocean right on Miami Beach. Their rooms are newly remodeled and so inviting! We had two balcony’s, a walk in shower and views that were endless.

Best part of the hotel is that the beach is right across the street, we put on our swimsuits, grabbed our towels and went off to feel that salty breeze.

The food was probably my favorite. French toast that melted in your mouth and authentic Cuban sandwiches that made your taste buds go wild. The portions are big so be prepared to share! (scroll down for a list of the places we ate!)

The nightlife goes strong until the next morning. Every restaurant has a different theme that ranges from Puerto Rican music to Cuban music to Electronic. This was something that really shocked us! After being in the sun all day we were exhausted come night time and were looking forward to getting snug in bed (I know, we’re lame). But with the music going right outside our window, our dreams of sleeping did not happen. My sister actually had to leave for the airport Sunday morning at 4:30am, and when we walked outside, people were still dancing, eating, singing! I love how much life there is in everyone down there, it’s truly an inspiration and a good reminder that life is short, celebrate it!

The sunset in Miami is so dreamy. We would spend it walking the beach, watching the cruise ships float by and the city lights start twinkling on. The skies were painted in pastel, tourists were playing football and we simply could not stop smiling. It was exactly what we needed, full relaxation.

We spent the last day exploring more of the hidden streets of Miami Beach. So full of charm, colorful buildings, floral walls and locals that aren’t afraid to say hi!

The two things I miss from Miami Beach the most are the warm nights and the turquoise waters! I’m so excited about my next adventure but Miami will always be remembered as the place a seagull pooped on me (yes, the really happened)!

If you’re looking to escape to Miami, here’s the places we ate and stayed at. Highly recommended them all!
